The Lifestyle

The purpose of this website and blog is going to track my progress as I make the transition from the rat race to a life of freedom and independence. The “Flip Flop Lifestyle”, as I have come to call it, is representative of not just wealth but the freedom and lifestyle that comes with passive income. The freedom to go where you want with no one to answer to. The freedom to do what you want with no financial limitations. The freedom to be yourself and pursue your passions on your terms.

I am going to take you with me on this journey and let you experience everything with me - the ups and the downs, the successes and failures. I will be able to tell you what works and what does not and maybe in doing so I can help some of you break free and achieve the same lifestyle.

What is the “Flip Flop Lifestyle”?

The Flip Flop Lifestyle is my term to describe living a life of freedom. Free from making decisions based on what you can afford or what is practical. Free from having to answer to anyone or anything - bosses, clients, schedules, meetings, appointments, or dress codes. Free from bills. Free from stress. And, most importantly, free to live the life that you want to live and experience everything this incredible world has to offer.Sunset through palm trees

Money is only part of the equation. I have made large amounts of money in the past and was not satisfied. The price I had to pay to earn that money was my freedom. I worked hard and became very good at selling real estate but it was not the lifestyle that I wanted. Appointments, clients calling at all hours of the night and weekend, worried about taking extended vacations because I was afraid of losing sales, long hours…

After 5 years I realized that it wasn’t what I really wanted. I didn’t want to spend the next 5, 10, 15 or more years living the same way and feeling trapped every single day. Although I had created the life I was living, I started hating my situation more and more. I needed a change so I sat down and created in my mind the life that I wanted to live. In full detail I fleshed out this amazing lifestyle - the houses, the cars, the vacations, the work and above all else, the freedom.

I started to devise a plan to achieve this life I had so vividly imagined. I didn’t know exactly how I was going to get there but I knew now where I was heading. And I knew that in less than 5 years I was going to be wearing flip flops to work instead of immaculately polished dress shoes.
