“The Four Hour Workweek” Review

January 1st, 2008

I finished the book and in a nutshell, this is my opinion: AWESOME. It really appeals to me on several levels, I guess. It is directly in tune with what I am trying to accomplish - weirdly so. This is a strong case for the power of the Law of Attraction at work. The freedom and lifestyle that Tim Ferriss is an advocate of and has achieved closely parallels the ideas that have been the subject of my intense focus.

My Favorite Mannequin…

December 31st, 2007

This is another great pic that I came across from Labor Day weekend, 2007 the day after I won my last Muay Thai kick boxing fight in Carlsbad. Not a mark or bruise to be found!

Your Agreement With Yourself

December 31st, 2007

It seems to me that most people make a conscious decision in early adulthood to settle for less than what they dreamed of as children or young adults… they make a pact with themselves to try and be happy in spite of the life they have settled for, and part of that agreement is to eternally justify what they have settled for day after day until they are lying on their deathbed - it’s then that the veil of justification that has become such a part of their existence lifts and they look back on their life with regret.

Playing at the dog park with Zeus

December 29th, 2007

Today has been relaxing… Nothing really going on with real estate since everybody is more focused on Christmas and New Years. I took our one year old pit bull Zeus to the park and played fetch for an hour or so. Great way to clear one’s mind and really be able to get in touch with yourself with no distractions… sort of an active meditation.  Besides, it’s fun hanging out with the little guy!

All the other pictures turned out a little blurry - I need to get a camera more suited for action photos.

The University of Barnes & Noble

December 27th, 2007

I love Barnes and Noble - the shear amount of knowledge contained on those shelves is amazing to me. It’s an addiction, really. I have to limit myself every single time I go in that store.

I actually just finished a very good book by Pat O’Bryan called “Your Portable Empire” and it had a ton of great information. I read all the reviews on it and they seem to be split down the middle - either people loved it or hated it. And did so passionately. This in and of itself is generally a good indicator that it is probably a good read. Anything that ruffles peoples feathers a little bit is generally interesting…

Venice Beach and the Flip-Flop Inspiration

December 23rd, 2007

I love Venice Beach… there is never a lack of things going on and there is no better place to people watch in the world. I love the ocean as well - most likely because I never got to see it as a child or maybe I just have a connection with it. Maybe because it it is so endless and powerful… whatever the reason is, I always feel more connected to the universal consciousness just standing and watching the waves.

Christmas, New Year’s & new directions

December 23rd, 2007

Well, Christmas is only two days away and then the New Year is upon us. Traditionally, I use this time of year for personal reflection and to chart a course for the next 12 months. This year however, is different on many levels. With the dramatic changes that have occurred with the direction of my life in the past couple of months, I find there are many questions that remain unanswered and many uncertainties ahead.

On influence…

“Before you can inspire with emotion, you must be swamped with it yourself. Before you can move their tears, your own must flow. To convince them, you must yourself believe.”
